When i started playing “3D Movie maker” on my windows 95, I did not forsee this

I think my first exposure to editorial was making horrible knockoff blockbusters on my family’s old PC in the “computer room.” The only title I can remember is “Double 007” in which there were two 007 agents (Barbara Broccoli feel free to hit me up on the Collaborate page). Little did I know I would be staring at screens- but more importantly -storytelling as my artistic outlet / career in my adult life. Pretty neat stuff.

As I grew older I started making shorts with LEGO on camcorders with “spectacular” in-camera effects. That graduated to Jackass-style videos in my teenage years, which effectively only captured the angst of suburban teens. I went to film school and graduated with high honors from Columbia College Chicago, where I made some equally angsty short films— but this time with booze & cigarettes.

After I graduated, I animated and edited much less angsty car commercials- and launching off of that broadcast commercial experience, I started my journey into editorial at Periscope Post & Audio— a full service post-production facility. At Periscope, I’ve become lead editor at the Chicago location, as well as dailies supervisor. Again, pretty neat stuff.

I love to work on projects of all genres and scale. Organization, attention to detail, and the passion of collaborative storytelling is what made me fall in love with editing in the first place. Since editing is the first step of re-shaping a story in post I believe there should be room to breathe, create, and— most importantly —dream.
